Starting Smart in Business

Build your market share first, then test your ideasDollars on the head of man

exert from Nett Magazine by Morris Kaplan

If you are looking to stretch your resources or capture a gap in the market, then spending lots of time planning and researching to get the perfect business model will not get you very far.

So what’s an entrepreneur to do to get his business launched, running and debugged? Ship then test. Now that’s an idea.

You won’t gain much momentum from focusing on drawing up plans before you actually launch your business. In fact, spending all your time on research has as much chance of getting you a successful business as getting struck by lightning while standing at the bottom of a swimming pool on a sunny day.

The premise of grabbing market share first before testing your ideas, is that ‘perfect’ is the enemy of ‘good enough’.

‘Good enough’ works in the internet space. Operators run beta websites in order to test a concept, be it a new product or a new technology. Risky? Perhaps, but so too is running out of money before you generate revenue.

Now my take on Practice till your Profitable.

by Dave Cane

One thing that all people especially entrepreneurs need to practice is “If it is not a Win Win Win scenario it is NOT ON”

So if the deal is not a positive for You (the business owner), Your Client (another business or community) and any third parties it should not even be considered.

We all know some over educated dud, that has spent a lifetime reading, learning from others and not doing it them selves, not practiced it at all. Let alone producing or making a positive life for himself, positive impact the community or those around him.

Theory doesn’t cut it, unless it can be used to help others live a better life, or help sustain our planet so our kids, kids can live a better life… Yes Win Win !!

A bit like reading a book on how to swim & expect to be a competitive swimmer  without getting in the water.

So start, do something, take smart advice, and fine tune and adapt your business direction for success.

If your not growing your dieing and all things change or die.

So if you want some real life advice on Website Solutions, Email Marketing, Search Engine Optimization or Social Media Marketing we are well connected with people that have years and in cases a decade plus of practical experience.

SEO On Site & Off Site 2

On Site and Off Site SEO – part 2Thumbs up to SEO

As explained in Part 1 - Now there are two areas of Search Engine Optimization

  • ON Site SEO that is what we can do and you can do on your website to help your Google or other search engine ranking and
  • OFF Site SEO which is what is done around the internet and not on your website to increase your search engine indexing.

So to continue on from there talking about both On Site and Off Site SEO we need to remember that Search Engine can’t see pictures they only index text the wording content of a webpage. Now that is the words you can see and the words in the source code that you can’t see but Search Engines can.

So with images if you can add a title, description and tags (keywords) to them then the this give more for the search engine to index.

A tip is to try and  include the  relevant key words or key phrases in the first part of the text in regards to Titles, Descriptions and Page content.

The reason for this search engines topically only look at the first 60 characters of the Title and about 160 characters of a description, in relation ship to web page titles and descriptions.

With page content it is more beneficial to have all the fluffy descriptive non relevant words after the keyword text. So try and think like a information gathering robot and not like a fiction novelist. You can still make the content sound great just use the key words instead of Then they, the owners, etc.

These tips apply to you writing an article on your website uploading an image to your website Which is On Site SEO. With relationship with Off Ste SEO if you are uploading articles and images on Social Media websites like Twitter and Facebook or adding comments or articles on Forums or News sites.

Also relevant to both On & Off Site articles try to use correct English. This is not always possible as times you may want to catch the attention of the reader or especially spell something wrong to use the wrong spelling as a key words as well as the correct spelling.

Here is an example if you are writing an article on SEO you might consider spelling it both ways Search Engine Optimisation and Optimization. Now the largest group of people and computers think the correct spelling is IZATION and the minority would search using ISATION. This is particularly important on a .com website where color is the correct spelling, on a .com.au it is more acceptable to spell it coloUr.

I hope you got something from this article
