Creating a Google or Gmail account

If you are setting up a Google Account for business so you can use Google Services like Google Places / Maps, You Tube, Panoramio etc. The best option is to sign up for a Google Account using a business email address with your domain name eg admin@yourdomain.com.au. The reason for this is that this gains more Google trust, as the email address matches the business & your website address.

If you just want to have a personal Google Account separate to business, an account you can use to make Reviews on other Google business pages or have an email address that has webmail with ample storage then set up a Gmail account.

Here is a tip for those who have a WordPress CMS website

If you want to add a Google Map to a Page or Post go to desired Google Map, click ‘Link’ > ‘Paste HTML to embed in website’

Open the Page or Post in your website Admin area, click ‘HTML’ then click the curser where you want the map located & Edit > Paste > Update

If you want to change the dimensions of the map, change the “width” & “height” in the source code. > Update

Note: if you change the view of the editor from HTML back to Visual & then > Update (save changes) you will probably find that the embedded code will change & the map will NOT show.

So when editing you Location Page do all the changes to content in HTML view & Update or be prepared to copy & paste the Map source code from Google back into the HTML view before Updating.
